(OK, so the heading to this post is a little corny. But I like corny. Corny is good. I think we could all use a bit of corny in our lives sometimes.)
When you’re done reading this post, click on the link and check out Lila Tueller’s blog. Lila is a fabric designer for Moda Fabrics, and one very talented lady. I’ve been reading her blog for the past six or seven months, and actually had the privilege to meet her briefly at Quilt Market in Houston last fall.
Lately, I’ve been working hard on the manuscript and quilt designs for BOOK #2, and last week was spent working to gather the fabrics I’ll be using to make the quilts for the book. Moda Fabrics has been very generous and supportive with future lines for me to use. But I specifically planned to use Lila’s Soire’e fabrics and for a variety of reasons, I was unable to aquire the necessary precuts and yardage. What’s a girl to do?
So, I contacted Lila directly through her website and lo and behold, she remembered me from Quilt Market! Not only that, but she graciously and generously offered to send me the Jelly Roll, Layer Cake, and yardage I need to create the quilt I’ve designed around her Soire’e fabrics! Wow – this was such a gift, and a wonderful reminder of all the lovely people in the quilting and textile industry.
Thank you, Lila!
Yes, I am tickled and honored! Thanks, Kimberly for using my fabrics! I am excited to see your book!
You seem to be a very warm and wonderful person. Good luck to you!

Thank you, Lila! If your new fabric lines are as glorious as Soire’e and Woodland Blooms, (which I’m sure they will be) I’ll be using a lot more of them in future quilts.
Thanks again for coming through for me when I was in a bind. You’re the best!
I’m sure she is just as tickled and honored that you are using the line in your book! Congrats to you both!!
Oh my goodness, are those colors fabulous or what!!!!! I’m seeing visions of a quilt for my granddaughter, Annabelle, who is one hot little pink-loving 3 year old. Can’t wait until they are available for sale!
It’s a nasty. sleety day here in Pennsylvania. Just the kind of day to spend pressing all of those blinkin’ half-square triangle squares from the latest mystery quilt. Well at least my fingers are hot! Friday can’t come soon enough — I want to see what all those squares are going to be when they grow up.
I can’t wait to see the book and the quilts. I just checked out lila’s blog and boy is she one busy person. Lucky for you that she remembered you and sent you her fabric and lucky for her that you are using it in your quilt patterns. I’ll be waiting patiently.
No one brightens my day quite like you do, Pat!
The bold, bright, cheeriness-in-your-face colors of Lila’s Soire’e line are just exuberant, and I think they would not only make the perfect little girl quilt, but the perfect big girl quilt, too. I can hardly wait to cut into those beauties…..
As far as the HST’s go, hang in there. I always put the “tedious” steps of a mystery first, so once they are done, it’s all down hill, baby! 🙂 Can’t wait to post the next clue in the mystery tomorrow morning.
Glad the fingers are toasty, but be sure not to burn them!
Happy day, Pat!
Hi, Mary-Kay!
Thanks so much for taking a moment to leave a little note today! I’m having such fun designing the quilts for the next book….can’t wait to share more about it as the work progresses. The quilts in this next book are fun, fun, FUN to make! And did I mention EASY? I think you’ll love ’em!
Hope you’re having a great day —
K
Yikes, Groundhog day is actuially on Monday. Sorry about that.
