Lovely Lilacs
The spring flowers just keep getting better and better with each passing day. Although the crocuses and daffodils are but a recent memory and the tulips are fading away until next year, the lilacs have taken their place and have filled my backyard with abundant blooms and the most heavenly scent you can imagine! I have three colors of blooms on my lilac bushes; the traditional lavender, deep violet, and even white. Wouldn’t it be lovely if your computer screen had “scratch-n-sniff” capability! Wish you could smell these. Take a moment and enjoy the delights of the season with me.
I cut these from my bushes just a few minutes ago. The entire room is now filled with
the freshest lilac scent you can imagine!
Now close your eyes and take a deep sniff…
Can you smell them?
Wish you were here…. 🙂
I LOVE lilacs! We have a bush in our yard that should start blooming soon, but I can’t have them in a closed space near me — they make me sneeze like crazy! I will just have to enjoy them on my computer screen. Yours are fabulous!
Thanks, Pat! You know, I actually thought of YOU as I posted this blog today, and hoped it would start your morning off right! 🙂
Ahhh…almost…:o)
Oh you teaser ..I have to wait for mine at least a month…. !!!!
It DID start my day off right. Here in eastern PA, we are now on our 9th straight day of rain. It will pay off with the garden later, but right now it is dreary, dreary, dreary.
One very bright spot: we are going to see the grand kiddies on Saturday, and Annabelle (3 and a half) and I are going to do our very first sewing project together. I am taking my Featherweight, and we are going to make a pillow case for her new, big-girl bed! I am going to pre-cut the fabric, and probably pre-sew a contrasting cuff & contrast band on the body. She can sit in my lap while we straight-stitch the sides. I have pretty dancing froggie fabric for her (the local store didn’t have the fairy fabric I really wanted), with pink trim, and big red fire truck fabric for her 2 year old brother, Ian. I am so (sew?) excited!
I wonder what lovely surprise you wonderful boys are planning for Mother’s Day?
Stina —
It is so great to hear from you! Thank you so much for taking a moment to leave a comment. I actually read your blog so frequently, but haven’t figured out quite how to leave a comment yet because of the German server — all my message boxes come up in German! But please know I read your blog very frequently and enjoy it very much!
