Blushing!

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t just love the new line of Blush by basicgrey/Moda? I can’t imagine. I think the entire line of prints is simply luscious. I’ve been working on a new quilt using these wonderful, yummy, scrumptious strips from a Jelly Roll plus a little additional yardage. Have you ever thought of making a simple Lone star from Jelly roll fabrics? It’s too easy. No set in seams. Simple cutting; simple stitching of diamonds. Really. And I may give a sneak peak of the new pattern for a VERY limited time for free in the future. Stay tuned.

Blushing for another reason…

My little ‘ole book just keeps surprising me. It is the #1 best-selling book at AQS according to the current issue of “On Point” and get this: as of this morning, it is ranked #29 out of the 100 top sellling books in patchwork on Amazon.com. How nice is that? Yep, I’m blushing. I always knew pink was a great color for me.

So……do tell. Are you making a quilt using Blush fabrics? If not, what are you working on? I’d love to know. The world is such a friendlier place when you all share your thoughts, (well, the good ones anyway) so I hope you’ll leave me a comment.

  1. Oooooooo. Ahhhhh. Gotta have that Blush fabric. so soft, so gentle, so girlie! Can’t wait for the lone star pattern. What will the yardage/fabric requirements be so that I can start shopping?

Your “little ‘ole book” is a big fat hit, girlfriend! See, good things do come to those who do good things. Can’t say that I’m surprised, however. That book is awesome.

    • Hey Pat! Start shopping, girl! All you will need is one Jelly Roll (or the equivalent of 40 – 2 1/2″ strips of fabric) PLUS one – 1 1/2 yards of a background fabric with good contrast. That’s it! Now, if you want to get a few extra 1/2 pieces for inner borders, binding, etc…..that would be great too. And thanks mucho for the great comments on the book! I’m still “blushing” over how well it is doing out there….. 🙂

  2. Ohhh I love Blushing! I just found your blog and I LOVE it! Thanks for sharing!

I’m not working on anything at the moment except… well, work. I work for the American Quilter’s Society and we are hard at work for the upcoming shows in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Paducah, Kentucky. If you aren’t a member of the AQS you should check out all the benefits received through it- they are fabulous!

Blessings to you and your family!

    • Thank you, Sophie! So you’re part of the wonderful AQS family? WOW — I love those fantastic folks! How was Lancaster? I sure missed being there this year…..
Hope you’ll check back often. Would love to hear from you again!

  3. Well…I do indeed love Blush by Moda. However I have way too many projects going on to start another with this wonderful fabric! I’m making mother’s day presents, baby presents, and a few other random projects. Can’t wait until I get some of them off my plate to start some new ones!

    Sydney

    • I know what you mean, Sydney. Too many great ideas, too many projects stacked up, too little time. But hang in there and keep plugging away, one by one. Those projects will get done and then you can make something for you: JUST BECAUSE!

  4. Beautiful fabrics~ and I love stars! 🙂 DD is home for spring break and we are making sundresses. 🙂

    • I’ll bet your sundresses are just too cute — would love to see photos! Nothing heralds the coming warm weather like fresh new dresses! Have fun with DD!

  5. Hi Kimberly love reading your blog. Greetings from Western Australia. I have a layer cake in lovely Autumn tones (my favourite) that I bought in USA about two years ago, and am looking for inspiration on what to do with it. I know the possibilities are almost endless and I think that is why I am stuck. A friend always says ‘absence of choice clears the mind’, and I think she is right. So, that is what I am doing now. I am fortunate enough to be going on a week-end quilt camp this week-end and hope to get some inspiration from the ladies there. Sam (Sandra)

    • Hi Sandra! It is always a thrill for me to hear from you down under in W. Australia! Thanks for stopping by my blog again — I appreciate it very much! Did you get any inspiration from your weekend quilt camp? I’d love to know what you end up doing with your Layer Cake of autumn fabrics! I’m sure you’ll make something gorgeous with it!
