The Germans have “fests” for every conceivable occasion. Oktoberfest, weinfests, fests for schnitzel, fests for asparagus (spargel)….even a fest to celebrate bugs in the spring. But with Valentine’s Day upon us, tomorrow is a day to celebrate a “Heart Fest” — and I’ve got so much in my life to be thankful for; so many things to love.
I’ve got these handsome guys…..
And I’ve got this terrific guy!
So, how will you celebrate Valentine’s Day? Is there someone special you plan to share it with? Who makes your heart skip a beat, or what will you do to share your love with others? Leave a comment and share what’s special to you — whatever it is that makes you “feel the love.”
Whoever or whatever it may be, here’s to your own special love fest.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I am combining many of my loves! My husband and I are driving to the Reading/Lancaster area of Pennsylvania. He loves antiquing, and that’s an area where there are all kinds of antitique-ish places to poke around in. He will be dropping me off at a fabric store in Denver, PA, called Burkholders. It’s about a close to fabric heaven as I can get here in PA, and the fabric prices are about $2 less per yard than at the places closest to me. It’s a “must see” for us quilters in PA. Google them & check out their web site. I will be shopping my heart out & looking for fabrics for some classes taught at the Lancaster Quilters’ Heritage Celebration by an international rock star of the quilting world, Kimberly Einmo.
THEN we are going to meet my son, daughter-in-law and two cute-as-a-Spring-bug grandchildren for an early dinner. I’m not sure where we are going yet, but it will be some place low-key, where a 2 year old and a 3 year old can’t cause too much of a ruckus. Then back to their house to play Thomas the Tank Engine and Princess Ballerina until they wear us out.
Much love to you and your family, Kimberly. BTW, I did catch that pretty litte piece of a quilt at the top of the page made with your hearts ruler. You are going to nudge all of us towards applique & embellishment!!!
Pat — what a happy hearts day you will have today! I can tell you’re feeling the love, too! Give those grandbabies extra squeezes and hugs, and enjoy your day out with your family. What fun!
