What an A-W-E-S-O-M-E retreat!

If you weren’t at the first annual Scrap and Sew Retreat in Tampa, FL this past Thursday – Saturday, you missed it. I mean, you really missed out. It was so much fun. And informative. Educational. Creative. Inspirational. Exciting. Oh, and did I mention, FUN?

I think the ladies attendees all had a terrific time. (I can’t say “ladies” because there was a guy quilter there, too!) Sue Hausmann taught two terrific projects in the morning sessions and I taught a fabulously creative flying geese project in the afternoons. But let’s not just read about what we did. How about a show and share photo session?

Three terrific gals in aprons: Terri Morrow, Tess Pokorny, and Alex Marretta.
No one will ever know how much time, effort, and endless hours
of preparation these gals put in to make the retreat a huge success.
Tess is the wonderful retreat organizer and host,
owner of Scrap and Sew — Pfaff dealer extraordinaire!

The retreat facility was light and bright.
Perfect for spreading out and getting a lot accomplished!

Sue’s projects were a big hit; fast, fun, FABULOUS!

I taught a “Precut Pizzazz” workshop — with tons of options, lots of tips and tricks,
and a thousand versatile ways to use precut fabric bundles!

Everyone got to choose their fabric bundle, background fabric,
and whether to use circle or heart fusible appliques…..

or no applique at all. One pattern, unlimited creative opportunities!

The photos are the result of this very visionary, talented young man
behind the camera lens: Joe Roberts. He has a fantastic photography business.

It was an amazing time of sewing, laughing, sharing, learning and creativity. As all good retreats should be. I can hardly wait for the next one. In the meantime, Sue and Herb are here at our house. How amazing is it that Sue Hausmann is here in my studio and ready to sew?  Color me blessed and completely happy!

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with one last shot:

Yeah, I have no idea either.

  1. What fun that was! We’re having our first retreat in November. It filled up really quickly. We’re doing a mystery quilt as the main focus.

Is you fantastic little patterna available or is it in your new book. I’d really like to be able to make one, or two or all three!!
